ABOUT THE ARTIST I have been painting all of my life. After using many mediums and being influenced by several great artists, I decided to focus on Portraits  in Pastel.   I love working with pastels.  The vivid colors...subtle surface tones...crispness and perfection ...make  pastels my preferred medium.   Pastels have been used by great artists such as Edgar Degas, Mary Cassatt, and Edourard Manet. Because pastels have no oils, they do not yellow nor break down as can oil paintings. Pastel allows  me to use a spontaneous approach in my paintings. I have over 30 years of experience in painting portraits, and have always enjoyed capturing the inner spirit of a person in soft pastel colors.
